Network Tab

In the Network tab, you can view and manage everything related to your local Thread environment, including:

  • Local OTBR list: See all available OpenThread Border Routers.
  • Nearby Thread Networks: Discover surrounding networks.
  • Add/Remove: Quickly join or remove networks.
  • Diagnostics: Check connection details and troubleshoot issues.

Add OTBR to the app

At the Network tab, when OTBR Connected, click Add Network Now:

  • You can add an OTBR by specifying its IPv4/IPv6 address or hostname. Fill in the URL, port, and endpoint. If the information is correct, a link preview will appear.
  • If authentication is required, enter the credentials.
  • Health indicators are available to verify the connection status.

Nearby Thread Networks

The app detects nearby Thread networks by discovering Thread Border Agents on the local network using mDNS/UDP. These Border Agents advertise their associated Thread networks through service discovery.

📌 Privacy note: Detection happens only within the local network (LAN). No data is sent outside your LAN.
